Dealer Groups: Sutherlin Purchase and Sheehy’s Latest Community Effort
Sutherlin Automotive Group has purchased Earl Duff Subaru in Kingston, Tennessee, from Tim Duff, according to a press release from Performance Brokerage Services, which advised the sale.
The store will remain in its current location and is now known as Sutherlin Subaru.
In the statement, Duff said, “George Chaconas of Performance Brokerage Services contacted me from a referral he received from another 20 band member and longtime friend who had also recently sold their dealerships. . We recently moved our Subaru dealership to a brand new state-of-the-art facility and have experienced successful growth.
“The dealership was a very attractive opportunity for new buyers in a desirable and growing market. I had no succession plan and had no interest in buying another dealer,” Duff said.
“I had other projects to pursue and the timing was perfect. George brought me a very interesting offer from a highly qualified automotive group, Sutherlin Automotive, which already had operations in the Southeast, Georgia and Florida. Even with some of the last minute issues at closing, overall the transaction went smoothly,” he said. “George was able to help myself, along with my attorneys and buyers, liquidate my family’s biggest asset after decades of ownership. Charitable efforts in Sheehy
Next, Sheehy Auto Stores recently wrapped up their Sheehy Has Heart sale event, which ended up raising $340,000 for the American Heart Association.
Thirty-two Sheehy stores across Washington, DC; Richmond, Virginia; Hagerstown, Maryland; and Baltimore helped raise money for the cause. Additionally, they participated in the Sheehy Has Heart Dealership contest to encourage heart-healthy activities. These included weekly walks, healthy potlucks, yoga classes, 5k runs and more.
