Paretti dealers thrive on relationships, service and dedication to quality | Sponsored by: Paretti
The automotive industry has changed dramatically over the decades, but Paretti has never wavered from its commitment to customer service.
“When someone comes into our dealerships, they don’t get stuck between different vendors,” said Mike Rase, vice president of Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships for Paretti in Baton Rouge. “Once you meet your sales guide, you stay with the same person until the end of the process. They work with you to find the right vehicle, finance and review all your options. I think we’re very special in that way because people come to tell us that it’s a breath of fresh air to have that consistency.
It’s a culture that has been instilled in Paretti from the start. The fourth generation of the Paretti family now operates the dealerships, which opened in 1936. This year marks the 25e anniversary in the Baton Rouge area, where it also serves customers from Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria and throughout the area.
“We have grown in Baton Rouge from six to 36 employees. It has truly been a blessing,” Rase said. “We cannot thank the community enough for supporting the Paretti family. I would say at least 90% of our customers have purchased multiple vehicles with us. We have built a lot of history with the families. Sometimes when customers come in, I remember when they were born and served their parents and grandparents. Now the next generation is coming. It’s really special.
Rase said these relationships and Paretti’s customer-focused philosophy have helped the dealership overcome recent challenges, including supply chain issues and chip shortages that have led to reduced inventory at the site and longer waiting times for vehicles. These days, Rase said, there’s often a two-year waiting list for many popular Jaguar and Land Rover models.
“We did everything we could and thankfully our customers understand the situation,” Rase said. “We have extended the leases of many of them or installed them in newer used vehicles. They can buy a two-year-old certified vehicle, knowing that their new vehicle will arrive in 12 to 16 months. I think it speaks to the trust they have in us to keep our word.
This trust and confidence is shared by automakers, including Mazda, which approached Paretti about expanding into the Northshore after its success at Metairie and the fact that Paretti won several President’s Club awards that place it among the top dealerships. Country Mazda. The Covington site will open in November and serve customers throughout the region, including Slidell, Hammond, Mandeville and other communities.
“Mazda saw an opportunity to branch out and they approached us because of the way we work with our customers and the success we’ve had,” Rase said. “It’s a real blessing and a natural choice for us. We are excited to grow and be able to serve even more people.
Additionally, Paretti Jaguar of Baton Rouge recently received the Pride of Jaguar award, which is given only to the top 12 dealerships nationwide who demonstrate excellence in customer service, sales and more. This is the fifth time Baton Rouge has won the award in the past eight years.
“It’s an all-encompassing award that reflects the excellence of each employee,” Rase said. “We compete with the biggest dealerships in cities like Manhattan and Miami, and Baton Rouge continues to be recognized as one of the best. I couldn’t be more proud of our team.
