SIM with free social data
We take a look at what you can get in terms of free social media data and other data saving features and SIM only plans …
What is a free social data plan?
Every time you use your phone to access the Internet, you are using a certain amount of data. This could be a small amount for browsing your email, or a portion for streaming music or watching videos – and it could be that a large portion of your data allowance is being used up using social and chat applications.
If so, you’re in luck, as there is now a selection of SIM-only mobile plans, from networks like VOXI and Virgin Mobile, which offer free social data. This means that you can use Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp however you like, and it won’t affect your plan’s data allocation.
Inexpensive SIM offers with free social data
There aren’t a lot of plans to choose from with this network, but all VOXI plans are SIM only and include infinite social data which means unlimited data for Snapchat, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Viber, Pinterest and Facebook Messenger as the standard. However, you must be under 30 years old to register for the network. Sorry grandma.

Can I keep my mobile number?
It’s easy to keep your number if you decide to change your plan. Ask your current provider for your Porting Authorization Code (PAC) – usually three letters and six numbers. Give the code to your new provider who will take care of the administrator and transfer the number from your old SIM to your new SIM. You have 30 days to do so. If you exceed this deadline, you will need to request another PAC code.
